Origin
Mid 16th century: from Latin effigies, from effingere ‘to fashion (artistically)’, from ex- ‘out’ + fingere ‘to shape’.

Each artist was given a mannequin as a canvas: an empty vessel awaiting transformation. Through methods of making and dismantling, these figures have been reshaped and given voices. They speak of fantasy, tragedy, and reflection. Delivered as blank forms, they now return as monuments to the intimate worlds within each artist.
